Project Description

This project involves conducting a plastic waste value chain analysis and baseline analysis to inform the required plastic waste interventions under the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme. The project aims to support sustainable development activities by assessing the plastic waste value chain, identifying opportunities for intervention, and analyzing the legislative and policy framework affecting plastic waste management.

Activities

  • Develop a methodology for plastic generation and characterization survey.
  • Undertake a field study to assess the relevance, potential, feasibility, and adoption of non-plastic materials.
  • Determine existing plastic management efforts and identify gaps in the plastic value chain.
  • Analyze the legislative and policy framework affecting plastic waste collection and utilization.
  • Develop a research sampling approach for data collection.
